A harsh Covid lockdown has effectively turned the capital city of China into a ghost town. This video of a drone catching fish from a pool in locked-down Shanghai is doing rounds on the internet.
Several videos have emerged over the past month documenting the dystopian state of Shanghai. Recently, a drone-shot video went viral after the multi-rotor aircraft doubled as fishing gear for a starved resident in a high-rise building.
The drone’s reflection is clearly visible on the pool’s surface as it descends to lower a bait attached to it with a string.
An inquisitive ornamental fish follows it across the pool and, lo and behold, it’s hooked.
The video was shared to Twitter by Rodrigo Zeidan, an Associate Professor at the New York University Shanghai
