WASHINGTON (SBG)- Wednesday marked the busiest travel day of the year for those hitting the road. Airports also saw crowds reaching levels not seen since the pandemic first started. The TSA says its officers screened 2. 2 million airline passengers at checkpoints around the country on Tuesday. The agency says that number is about 91 percent of the volume screened on the same day in 2019. Of course, that number is expected to increase when we find the totals from Wednesday.
