Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the territory of Guam by authorizing an increase in the level of Federal funding for relief and recovery assistance as a result of Typhoon Mawar from May 22 to May 29, 2023.
Under the President’s major disaster declaration issued for the territory of Guam on May 25, 2023, Federal funding was made available for Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation, and Other Needs Assistance at 75 percent of the total eligible costs.
Under the President’s order today, the Federal share for Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation, and Other Needs Assistance has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs.
