National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met today with Micheál Martin, Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence of Ireland. They discussed their shared commitment to continue supporting Ukraine in the face of Russia’s brutal war, and reviewed their efforts to provide economic, humanitarian, and security assistance to Ukraine. They also discussed their countries’ close cooperation on shared global challenges, including those posed by the People’s Republic of China. They reaffirmed their enduring commitment to the Good Friday Agreement and welcomed the ongoing talks between the European Union and the United Kingdom to resolve outstanding issues over the implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
