LOS ANGELES, CA – Steven Barber, who visioned and conceived the Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 monuments for NASA, with the Lundeen Sculptors, out of Loveland Colorado, has now visioned, and is commissioning the first American woman in Space Monument, Dr Sally Ride, and will be unveiled at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, on June 17th, in Long Island NY.

Mr. Barber is expecting 1000 young women, all holding the Sally Ride quarter, reaching for the stars, as we unveil the historic female NASA monument.

Sally Ride was the first American woman to go into space when she flew on the space shuttle Challenger on June 18, 1983. She took part in two shuttle flights, and later became a champion for science education and for the participation of girls in STEM education.

Steven Barber is an award-winning filmmaker with WWW.VANILLAFIRE.COM and has made it to the Oscar short list on 3 separate occasions. Vanilla Fire Productions is also shooting a full feature documentary on the building of the Sally Ride Monument, and the Sally Ride Story.
